The Dance
by Dragonlady

In the spiral castle of Arianrhod’s house
At the centre of the wooden floor
On the whirling board where the players stand
Here, the dance begins once more

Where once there was nothing but a warm embrace
In the darkness of an empty sky
Then the Moon she rose and lit the night
And I heard the Lady’s cry

As the lovers lay locked in each other’s arms
In the nothingness of space, he stirred
She cried out in a voice full of agony
And the Moon heard every word

As the distance between the lovers grew
The stars into the night sky streamed
Like a river of burnished silver
While below the dancers dreamed

In the spiral castle of Arianrhod’s house
At the centre of the wooden floor
On the whirling board, there the players stand
For the dance to begin once more.
